Anualmente, Jane Hart publica uma lista das 100 ferramentas de e-learning mais relevantes. A lista de 2010 foi divulgada no passado dia 18 de Outubro estando já abertas as contribuições para a lista de 2011. As listas são elaboradas através da participação, à escala mundial, de profissionais na área do ensino. Para a lista de 2010 participaram 545 desses profissionais. A lista de 2009 já foi analisada neste blogue (ver o post).
O destaque vai para o Twitter que aparece em primeiro lugar nas listas de 2009 e 2010, tendo estado na 11ª posição na lista de 2008. Os resultados podem também ser consultados por categorias podendo-se ver que o Twitter aparece em primeiro na categorias de "microblogging" e na categoria de "social networks e networking platforms". Igualmente em destaque mantém-se os serviços mais populares como o Facebook (9º na lista geral) ou o YouTube (2º na lista geral). O Facebook surge ainda como uma das ferramentas a assumir cada vez maior destaque na área do ensino.
Dentro das novas ferramentas é de referir a notoriedade efémera do Google Wave uma vez que irá em breve ser descontinuado.
A perder importância está a plataforma Elgg, uma das ferramentas que mais desceu face ao ano anterior. O Second Life também perde posições. Por outro lado, a ganhar destaque aparece o Dropbox.
Finalmente, entre as ferramentas que saíram da lista de 2010 está o email, confirmando o peso decrescente de uma ferramenta que já foi uma das mais importantes no universo da Internet.
